Industry: Commercial Finance and Business Services.
Client Requirement: To ensure that all laptop and portable devices that could contain sensitive business data, or client information comply with Data Protection Act by being encrypted.
Results: New Branch were concerned that their data being unencrypted may be a breach of the Data Protection Act. As a result, New Branch contacted Easy PC Scotland to determine what could be the best course of action to resolve this problem. New Branch had two main criteria they needed meeting:
- To ensure that all data on laptop devices was encrypted in accordance with the Data Protection Act;
- To ensure that all data on laptop devices was encrypted so as to prevent competitors gaining access to it.
New Branch utilised our encryption services over a remote connection so that work could commence immediately, and travelling expenses were eliminated from the costs.
New Branch received our full hard drive encryption (including the Operating System) service on their laptop devices which meant that absolutely all sensitive data on the device was secure. If the laptop was lost or stolen, the Information Commissioner would be satisfied that the Data Protection Act regulations were met.
